Cats cannot grind their teeth back and forth or side to side the way humans can, because they are obligate carnivores. They can only move their jaws up...
While humans have 10,000 taste buds, cats only have 430! And we wonder why they can be such picky eaters at times!
In 1996 a young mother cat named Scarlett suffered severe burns and nearly died after running into a burning Brooklyn building FIVE times to rescue each and every one of her 5 kittens! She survived, but not without extensive medical treatment and permanent body disfigurement. She will live forever in my memory as one of the bravest cats in the world!
The deadliest big cat in recorded history is known as the Tiger of Champawat. She is famous for hunting down and killing over 436 people in Nepal from 1900 to 1907. And while her deadly 7 year streak may seem improbable, her record barely shadows the kill list of many other man-hunting big cats like the previous record holder, Leopard of Panar, who took nearly 400 souls.
We share 90% of our genes with cats, but only 83% with dogs, and 99.9 percent with the person sitting next to us.
Female orange tabby cats only make up 20% of the orange tabby population. And female Calico's make up 99% of the Calico breed!

The Kitty Bodega is the first of it's kind in Houston, although our neighbors in Dallas have had a cat focused pet supplies store since 1985. There are less than 10 cat stores across the country.

The Kitty Bodega is a small store (for now) which makes quality paramount to the products we do decide to carry! In other words, I'll never compete with the big retail chains, nor do I wish too. What you will find instead is a carefully curated selection of cat food and supplies that address your cats most critical nutritional needs, regardless of your budget.
At this cat corner store you will also find a small, but dense section of critical cat care supplies that other pet stores don't typically stock, like cat grooming bags, vitamin additives for home cookers, cat urns, cat nutrition books, cat first-aid kits, homeopathic remedies to common cat ailments such as pancreatitis, kidney disease, diarrhea, hairballs, itchy skin, anxiety, and so much more!
